Popular Post rooster59
Poll shows 98 per cent believe Thailand better than other countries By The Nation A recent poll shows that 98 per cent of Thai people believe Thailand has more good things than other countries. The survey from August 16 to 21 had 35,273 respondents via social media and 1,409 people via direct contact, Asst Prof Noppadon Kannika, the director of Super Poll Research Centre, said on Saturday (August 22). When asked who must protect the country's institutions, 94.9 per cent of respondents said the people, 89.5 per cent said government officials and 86.9 per cent said the Army. Respondents were allowed multiple choices. When asked what good things Thailand has, 97.6 per cent of respondents cited royal projects that benefit people, 97.4 per cent cited the religion that was the centre of good deeds, 96.8 per cent named children who take care of their parents, 96.2 per cent cited sufficiency economy that encourages people to rely on themselves, 92.9 per cent cited people in the country that helped resolve the Covid-19 crisis, 89.8 per cent cited the "3 Forests for 4 Benefits" principle, 87.1 per cent cited the tree bank that encourages people to grow trees for sale, 86.1 per cent named the Army that alleviates people's suffering, 78.5 per cent cited electric trains and advanced technologies, and 60.3 per cent cited people who know that foreigners were trying to create conflict among Thai people. Around 98 per cent of respondents agreed that Thailand has more good things than other countries, while 2.0 per cent did not agree. The survey on political message trends showed that the message "Free Youth" that was released on July 12 had hit the highest trending on July 23, with 75.3 per cent of netizens using this message on Twitter and 14.9 per cent on Instagram. "Meanwhile, the messsage 'Let it [political issue] end in our generation' that was released on July 18 had hit the highest trending on August 16, with 60.0 per cent of netizens using this message on Twitter and 32.5 per cent on Instagram," Noppadon said. He said Instagram had become a channel to express political messages to create tensions among the new generation, and 54.2 per cent of netizens used "Setting a deadline to eliminate dictatorship" on Instagram and 41.9 per cent on Twitter. "Meanwhile, the message 'Our Thailand has this thing' that was released on June 24 hit the highest trend on August 19, with 73.2 per cent of netizens using this message on Twitter, 10.7 per cent on Instagram and 6.3 per cent on video clips," he said. He added that Thailand has more good things than other countries, so Thai people should not allow foreigners and some Thais to create conflict between them. "Many people will burn the house when they see a snake entering, to kill that snake. So, what will be left in the end?" he said. Popular Post ThailandRyan
Can you say that many have never traveled and are told how other countries are by those that have no clue. Well then the blinders are on. Truthfully, I love living here, but for me I don't view the country as having more good things than others. A little short sighted of people polled. 18

It should be 100%, the other 2% should worry the PM's goon squad is looking for them, right now! Prison camp for the 2%! Popular Post HAPPYNUFF
Once upon a time I used to be a volunteer at a local high school, teaching conversational English to the students. I gave up in disgust, though I felt sad for the kids. The very subtle brainwashing they received from the largely ignorant, semi educated teachers got me down. It was very insidious, but repetitive. I even got out a large scale map of the world one day and asked different students the locations of various countries. Unbelievably, some couldnt even point out the whereabouts of Thailand. On my final day there, one male student approached me, in halting English he begged me to stay, explaining it was their only chance to learn about the world. 19 3

Popular Post Pravda
My highly educated and Christian Chinese wife born in Thailand (all true, don't laugh) was watching a polish film on Netflix. MartinL
" ... 78.5 per cent cited electric trains and advanced technologies ... ". Blimey, 78.5% of respondents have never ventured outside Bangkok, never mind Thailand (I'm assuming MRT etc. in BKK are electric - never used it. Maybe I'm getting as ignorant as this 78.5%!!). No electric trains on my local train line.
