Authorities in Rayong province will propose a number of projects covering all areas of development when Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha holds a mobile Cabinet meeting on August 24-25.

Among the priority projects are increasing the efficiency of water management in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area, special highway construction, U-Tapao checkpoint and high-speed train extension to Rayong train station, mass transit system development to support EEC city development, Pluak Daeng royal project development service centre and others.

The private and public sectors have proposed a remedial programme to deal with Covid-19 fallout in Rayong, especially to relieve the impact of tourism on Samet island, management of wastewater, waste and industrial waste, air management in industrial estates and making Khao Chamao Development Project an open zoo for nature studies and solving problems of coexistence of people and wildlife.

Deputy Public Health Minister Satit Pitutecha said the meeting will look into the key aspects of the projects proposed to the Cabinet and various ministries. It will offer an opportunity for various ministerial officials to visit the areas and acknowledge the problems. Most of the serious issues lie in the areas of tourism and culture, wastewater and flood problems, he said.

If they've got any money left over from buying the new submarines, it would be nice to help out the serfs struggling to make ends meet during this time.
