RMUIT campus in Sakon Nakhon delivers 18,000 cannabis pellets

Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI) has delivered 18,000 cannabis pellets to organisations approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) so that patients could access more treatment.

 

Dr Kosit Sriputhorn, the vice-rector of RMUTI’s Sakon Nakhon campus, said that the university had personnel and technology that could help the plantation of cannabis in order to maximise its benefits for traditional Thai medicine and medical tourism.

 

He said RMUTI had spent two years developing the system to meet the standard with organic plantation and ownership granted by the FDA.

 

He said 18,000 cannabis pellets had been delivered to organisations under the Public Health Ministry’s administration, which will later be sent to hospitals in 150 communities.

 

Requests for more pellets are being fulfilled, while RMUTI is selecting strains that would facilitate Sakon Nakhon's registration as a seed bank, he said.
