I'm correct. Turn on your TV and watch the news.

Now 2 dead one wounded. 3000 armed white vigilantes on the streets.

This is a thread about St. Louis. What do shootings in Wisconsin related to Jacob Blake have to do with the McCloskeys? Surley that link belongs in the Jacob Blake thread?

A homeowner defending his property is the same a racist vigilante?

You do know the McCloskeys support BLM?

They and their attorney claimed they do, in the wake of their gun brandishing escapade....

But in the wake of what happened, they're going to do and say whatever they think they can get away with to benefit their own legal case.

And, not too many Trump partisans who speak to Trump's Republican National Convention are going to be any kind of real supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Watkins said there were two white men who made death threats and that’s when the McCloskeys grabbed their weapons.

"In the case of two individuals, did so in a case that was threatening, menacing, mean, vile fashion, which included verbal threats. Visual threats such that weapons were seen,” Watkins said.

But, that’s not exactly what Mark McCloskey told News 4’s Emma Hogg in an interview on Monday, saying “the threats happened probably after we got the guns.”

Real great, friendly couple, they are...  Real gay rights supporters also...

The newspaper found that the two personal injury lawyers have been in litigation with their gated neighborhood almost continually since they moved into their home in 1988, which they obtained after winning a lawsuit.

The McCloskeys filed suits over small neighborhood issues, including accusing neighbors of breaking neighborhood rules by allowing an unmarried gay couple to live there. The McCloskeys appealed all the way to the state Supreme Court.

The couple also reportedly sued a synagogue near their home for setting up beehives on their property to harvest honey for Rosh Hashanah celebrations. Mark McCloskey allegedly smashed the beehives, and the children in the synagogue cried the next day, the congregation’s rabbi told the Post-Dispatch.

And then of course there was the husband's prior gun pointing incident:

Quote

The McCloskeys and the trustees of Portland Place, the tony private street in a St. Louis historic district where they live, have been involved in a three-year legal dispute over a small piece of land in the neighborhood. The McCloskeys claim they own it, but the trustees say it belongs to the neighborhood.

Mark McCloskey said in an affidavit that he has defended the patch previously by pointing a gun at a neighbor who tried to cut through it.

Because it happened hours after the McCloskeys appeared on TV, virtue signalling that its OK for vigilantes to shoot protesters.

I didn't read all the posts on this thread, but it seems like there are a lot of people here who are haters (of what?) and seem to support those who attack people who are just minding their own business.  You folks like those who bully others?

I spent 2 years in Thailand 40+ years ago in the Peace Corps and a year or so helping Indochinese refugees get out of Laos and Cambodia.  I don't like it when people get kicked around.  Nor do I like it when I do by feral people who aren't worth a <deleted>.

I'm a Buddhist with 25 firearms and I don't mind blowing people away into their next lifetime.  No biggie.

dosen,t your views on "blowing people away" and the amount of guns you possess contradict your allegation of being a buddhist?

Out of curiosity is the photo of female officers anti-terrorism police in the UK?

No just normal armed police, each UK police force maintains a specialist firearms capability with tactical team members. They have another unit which is more highly trained and more highly armed. Also they have other anti terrisom units that operate in differant ways, for example a team that follows the money trail.

No, you are deluded, like these BLM protestors who think it's okay to intimidate a politician in her private home, while bringing guns.

Well if the wonderful Missouri politicians voted for the wonderful open carry laws allow people to bring guns to a knife fight, what exactly are the McCloskey's and people of that ilk gurning about?

I'm glad you don't live in my country! In the USA your innocent till proven guilty! The couple hasn't been to trial!

The way the law is structured in Missouri, a citizen has the right to protect themselves and  property and if they feel  threaten, they can exercise lethal force!

Under what is referred to as “The Castle Doctrine”, Missouri laws allow individuals to use deadly force against intruders who disrupt the sanctity of private property and intend to cause harm. A legal owner of private property has no duty to retreat and has the right to use deadly force to prevent an attack.Jun 17, 2019.

https://kcdefensecounsel.com/the-criminal-defense-of-self-defense-in-missouri/#:~:text=Under what is referred to,force to prevent an attack.

Have you followed the events that led up to that!!!!

Missouri has one of the worst reputations in applying gun laws disproportionately depending on race. This dates back to the first laws in 1818 allowing white people to confiscate any guns in the possession of slaves and other blacks, through to laws banning the sales of firearms to black people throughout the 19th century.

It is not just historical though, in 2015 the incident in Ferguson Missouri, where the police arrested a group of black teenagers on the "suspicion that they may have had weapons" while allowing a white armed militia group to openly parade their arms show the disparity existing within the policing structure.

I am sure that if a group of similarly armed black people - acting as a "militia" were to march through the centre of St Louis the gun control laws would be changed immediately.

Until and unless these attitudes are changed incidents such as the current one will continue.

Using your own logic.

What message is sent, when almost 90 days of Arson, looting, intimidation and violence is seen nightly on TV screens.

Actually, from the latest reporting, that may change - is that the shooter of the two protesters was not from the area - he was from the next state, so was not in any way "defending his property" which is the definition under the law.

Also it is reported that he is 17 years old so should not have legally been possessing a weapon.

The question will arise as to why the police did not disarm these groups, including the one with the 17-year old shooter, the implication being that White vigilante groups they turn a blind eye to - with fatal consequences.

There's indications in the news today that the local officers in Keneosha have been supporting the white armed militia groups that have surfaced there in recent days, including those at the shooting scene that led to two dead and one injured.

Quote

Armed civilians — many wielding AR-15-style rifles — took position near stores and businesses saying they intended to fill a vacuum left by a law enforcement. Some had stood near the gas station where Tuesday night’s shooting began with a confrontation just before midnight.

Cellphone video from before Tuesday night’s shooting showed police officers thanking armed civilians for being on the streets after curfew and handing them bottles of water. Officials said Wednesday that they could not comment in detail on the video.

And yet at the same time, the local sheriff officially wouldn't support them:

Quote

The sheriff said he had been approached by members of a militia to deputize citizens with guns to patrol Kenosha, and he pointed to what happened on Tuesday as “probably the perfect reason why I wouldn’t” do so.

Let's see if Trump and his cohorts will condemn these guys, like he's done with the rioting anti-racism protesters, as being armed domestic terrorists.  My bet would be, Trump will call them heroes.
