Thai police, in the western province of Kanchanaburi, yesterday seized a massive haul of illicit drugs concealed in a 12-wheel trailer truck. The drugs have an estimated street value of 1.6 billion baht.

Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, the National Police Chief, told a news conference today that the seizure includes 1,385kgs of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), 77kgs of heroin and 500kgs of Ketamine.

He said that the drugs were hidden in specially-built compartments under the floor of the truck, adding that the haul is the biggest ever seized in the province.
