Pump Sizing Question

Featured Replies

I have a clarifying water filter that can have a maximum pressure of 10 PSI at it's input.

I would like to drive it with an Atman AX4000 pump. The pump delivers 4000 LPH at head max. of 3.2 m.

How can I calculate that this pump won't have a maximum pressure of 10 PSI, or exceed the filter pressure specs.?

10m head of water is 1 bar which is 14.5 psi. So your 3.2 m head pump will develop 4.64 psi max approximate

10 psi sounds like a very low (max) pressure for a filter.

You need to find out the pressure at other flows / pressures - at lower flow the pressure will be higher.

PS. - just checked the tech data on the pump, they are saying 3.2 is the maximum head (pressure), therefore you are ok for that pressure at the filter.
