Basic Water Flow Question

Recommended Posts

If I have say a 2 m high filter that I want to backwash (from the bottom with no pump), into a same dimension minralization tank, mounted at the same level, then only half the backwash water will flow into the mineralization tank. I won't completely empty the filter.

So the only way (without a pump) to empty the filter on backwash is to have the top of the mineralization tank level with the bottom of the filter. Is this correct?

I would like to backwash the filter into the tank without digging the tank in the ground or raising the height of the filter.

(Go easy on me, I'm just a poor old retired person.) ????

That sounds correct, water doesn’t flow up hill without assistance.
