Absolutely no idea how Laos failed to reach the top 100 countries, considering that it has had a total of 19 Covid-19 cases and not a single death....  IMHO, I'm safer here than in most other countries (Vanuatu excepted!).

Simon, the scale takes into consideration government stability , hospitals etc etc.If, for me, I was taken ill, I’d much rather be in France than Asia or US.

This is a common misconception. Vietnam fought like hell to keep that British Airways pilot, patient number 91, alive and he survived. For them to be at 32 is ludicrous. I would rather be in Asia for sure if I were diagnosed and treated for covid 19. Also you would be much less likely to get it. The only issue for me would be cost of treatment since no health insurance and non-resident, but it would be far worse for me back home in US.

For Laos, I would be concerned about the hospital care, but it is super safe there now.
