Dramatic footage from a village in Chiang Rai in the far north of Thailand showed the moments when a man clambered onto the roof of a collapsed building during a violent flash flood.

Daily News said that the man managed to save himself despite the building disintegrating all around him.

The footage was widely viewed with posters commenting how lucky he was to survive the deadly currents.

The incident happened on Tuesday in the village of A-Dee in the mae Yao sub district of Muang district Chiang Rai.

Ninety houses were damaged in the flood with four being washed away entirely.

He’s very lucky as that is some amount of water with force flowing through there ! ????????????

Makes you wonder why he hadn't made an exit earlier?

Can you imagine, a submarine surfacing next to you when you are in such a situation?

This is the expected result when you have no flood control and no building control.

Looks like the house was built on a natural water course.
