September 13, 20205 yr Was paying 30 in CM..now paying 27 in BKK, but it is only 20 on the lower floors. Water is 17 per unit plus 25 per bill...that was a flat 25 per unit in CM.
September 13, 20205 yr Off topic, but this oughta put a smile on some faces... I checked out some condos near the beach here in Texas a few months back, and they charge USD $1,333 a month for condo fees. And another $600-1,200 a month in real estate taxes, depending on the size. I decided to pass.

Paying around $50 a month for all the amenities is extremely low even in the higher western type buildings. Just saying I know this is Thailand but lesser amenities in a place like Los Angeles for over $1000 a month are common. It's hard to do direct comparisons. We used to pay ฿55/sqm for our rental units in Thonglor. But it's hard to compare. Our HOA here in the US, maintains the pool, does landscaping, clears snow and insures us for all outside damage for $125/month. Now did I think my ~$60/month I paid for my Thonglor condo's was worth it? Well thats debatable. I owned them for many years, and over the years I saw the level of maintenance go down and down. I think, and it's only my opinion, but as they build constantly more new apartments, it's almost like they lose interest in maintaining older units. As for insurance, it didn't include any 'walls out' insurance, so it the block fell down...tough luck!

That must be helluva condo, we pay $1800 for the entire year in tax. ....then again here in South Dakota we are rather a long way from the ocean, any ocean!
