Nine men who besieged the Bangkok home of prominent pro-democracy activist Ekachai Hongkangwan were charged with causing a disturbance on Monday.

Ekachai called Lat Phrao police station to report that a gang of men in their 20s was standing outside his house, some of whom he believed were policemen as he recognised their faces. He had been about to step out to join another pro-democracy activity.

The incident follows several physical assaults on Ekachai and his car during his past two years of activism against the coup and post-coup governments.

He said an older yellow-clad man standing with the gang began shouting political insults, leaving him concerned about his safety.

Police arrived and carted all nine men off to the station. They were charged with causing a disturbance and each fined Bt300.

Police then detained the men long enough to allow Ekachai time to safely return home.

Wow, a massive deterrent !

Had they been on the other side of the political spectrum, they would probably have been detained  and denied bail.

yes I agree, they have been doing it recently

After a huge 300 baht penalty they will probably never ever do it again, nor will anybody else consider doing similar...????

Besieging a house and shouting insults 300 baht - write a bad review 2 years or 200,000 baht - crazy, ridiculous country

Come on sir. try and keep up.

It is not2 years or 200,000 baht for writing a bad review. There is no fine/sentence yet and it was multiple reviews, many of which were made up and downright lies.

The guest refused to meet with the hotel manager to discuss it and continued with the fake reviews.

All over a 500 baht 'corkage' charge when the guest brought his own liquor into the hotel dining room.

The hotel waived the charge on his bill.

in Thailand the drama queens abound..

This is the BBC news report on the incident of the man making false reviews about a hotel follow the link below. The idiot refused to talk to the hotel and refused to stop posting until the complaint was brought against him
