Hello. I've had a look through the forum on renewing my Thai car and motorcycle licenses both of which expired in March 2019. I just moved back to Thailand last month after being out of Thailand for 2 years (hence the expired licenses). While I've got a bunch of information sorted (thanks!) I have a few more questions more related to my circumstances.

1. I live in On Nut so I planned on heading to the DLT Area 3 at Sukhumvit 61. However, are there other more efficient, foreigner-friendly branches in BKK? I can head elsewhere in/near BKK (or just outside BKK) if it'll be less wait and/or hassle.

2. I'm legally in Thailand on my first 90-day permission to stay of a Non-O visa. For proof of residence, I take it I can only get an embassy letter (which I'm resigned to getting/paying for). I can't get a Certificate of Residency through Cheang Wattana Immigration as I haven't received a one-year extension of stay + done a 90 day report there. Is there any other work around to prove residence (e.g signed lease + TM30) other than the above options?

3. Are Bangkok DLTs only renewing expired 2 year licenses for another 2 years? If so, do other DLTs in nearby provinces (e.g. Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan) have this policy? Would really appreciate a 5-year renewal of both licenses if possible.

4. I understand foreigners cannot make appointments using the online system available. Would I have any luck turning up with everything in order and getting things sorted same-day (I realize that's very wishful thinking)? How long is it taking for appointments to be issued?

5. Is there any cheap and convenient clinic in/near On Nut to get the medical certificate sorted to renew both my drivers licenses?

6. I have a valid US Drivers License with a valid International Drivers Permit. Will this make the renewal process easier for either (or hopefully both) licenses?

Thanks in advance!

Bang Chak (Sukhumvit soi 61) require an appointment which (for non-Thais) needs to be made in person.  They check your documents when you make the appointment and give you a appointment card. I made mine at the end of August, and got a renewal (5-year) date for 24 December.

I believe the office at Mor Chit will do walk-ins, but if you're not in a hurry to renewal, the appointments will be less hassle.

I've always found Bang Chak quite 'foreigner friendly'.
