Fear is one of the easiest ways to manipulate people and we can see this clearly with the response to Covid. It is not a nothing burger, but as burgers go, this is a very small one. And as far as trying to prevent infection is concerned, it can't be done. If Thailand does not have herd immunity - which it might as this disease ay well have been prevalent end of 2019 - then it just means plenty of warm bodies waiting for infection at a later date, with a potentially more serious form of the disease.
