Its not a question of renegotiating the WA.

But all the things you guys hated in Mays deal like freedom of movement, are going to be included in the FTA.

Johnson is already backsliding on his deadline. He knows he cant go for no deal because its going to damage the economy too much. On top of corona damage.

Freedom of movement? Dear oh dear.

Of course they see them, unless they "look the other way". They're just glad to see the back of them and wave them on their way. Not that I blame them, if I were French, I would want the government to do the same.

Good to break international law ain't it?

Isn't it? The central, and most difficult, part of the WA was the Irish border issue. With the British government urinating all over that, doesn't it bring the whole of the WA into question?

Much of the WA is certainly questionable, I'll give you that.

Sorry, I don't get your humour, nor do I understand what you consider as funny.

We are geographically both Europeans, but so different.

Watch a Bugs Bunny cartoon and all may be revealed.

So where does the UK come on the world financial stage in your UK "has been" world....?

At the moment I believe London is second behind New York but I would have to look that up to be sure.

But what matters is you think the UK's "greatness" is derived from how much money is processed through a financial center.

Interesting.

Of course that would change overnight if passporting into the EU market is stopped.

Still think you hold all the cards?

I'm not really interested in scoring points. Most of my friends voted Brexit.

I'm only concerned about my country's economy going down the pan for some altruistic dream regarding "sovereignty" which was never an issue as, in reality, we never lost our sovereignty.

Add that to the hard right's war cry of "take back control of our borders" primarily aimed at immigrants crossing the channel from France. That went well didn't it? In August more immigrants crossed the Channel in one month than in the whole of 2019 when we were still in the EU. As fellow EU members, the French authorities worked closely with the British to minimise illegal crossings. Not any more, if caught with a boat on the beach, the French authorities just say to the illegals, "Bon voyage".

then the British government's going to have to do what it says on the tin...Govern,and if they don,t they,ll face the consequences, people in the uk were getting sick of the eus interferance in british affairs which led to brexit, may the remainer, worst p.m britains had for decades did absoulutly jack in her 3 year term, now we,ve got a worldwide depression in the post.whilst its true the british are one of the most apathetic races on earth when it comes to complaining and voting even a worm will turn,a very big thank you to the remainers for pouring fuel on this current fire, there may be trouble ahead.

Can't disagree with you but when do they start governing. We've effectively been out of the EU since the beginning of the year and things have gone from bad to worse (re: illegal immigrants).

Two screens one to float around on Tvisa the other for the more serious 'Billy Hill' raids ???? one of the perks of working from home, home computer sitting alongside with bet365 running ????

don,t need the mental crutch of alcohol as you appear to.just an understanding of current affairs, and looking back at similar scenarios and their outcomes in history.

I don't have any idea what the hard line anti E.U. represent in numbers in the real world.

We have here 3-4 "Hard Brexiteers" opposed to the same number of what I would call "Fervent Remainers".

As far as I am aware "remain" is no longer an option so I do not see how there can be any "remainers"

There are those that have held on to their views regarding the benefits of EU membership, sad situation if that is not allowed.

the french getting lairy with germany after ww 1 and the rise of national socialism, the policy of various central governments  to look for a scapegoat for their failure, try staying out the boozer for a night and invest the time in researching such events.

Wow.

You don't do self awareness do you?

The closest we have seen in Europe since national socialism is Brexit.
