The Dewa Resort, Koh Chang

On my most recent visit, I decided to try something different and stay at The Dewa,  just two doors down from where I usually stay at the Emerald Cove on Klong Prao Beach.

The guests were 90% Thai.  Pool was awesome, had a swim-up bar, but only once was a bartender on duty, and only briefly.

Even the Kids pool had access to the bar.

Rooms had concrete floor, which I didn't care for, but I liked the concrete walls which gave isolation from any noise from neighbors.   The TV was too small for the room but I didn't watch it anyway.  It included a DVD player for the rainy days.  The staff brought a complimentary small plate of muffins mid-afternoon.

Bathroom was long and narrow, with a walk-in shower on one end and a deep tub on the other.  I spent time soaking in the tub because I rarely find one that deep, but took a while to fill because the water pressure wasn't too great.

There was a small balcony for sipping whisky or having some pizza delivered by room service, but there were no divisions between rooms, so no isolation from neighbors.

Breakfast was bountiful, even included some Gouda cheese.

Activities were available but I didn't partake in any.

Beaches were deserted.

Beach side dining was enjoyable, as was happy hour, although menu choices were limited.

There was an afternoon 'cake' happy hour from 1 to 3 PM, two pieces of cake for 169++ to order with your coffee.

WiFi coverage was good, I was even able to use my tablet poolside.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Dewa and would certainly recommend it,  think I paid about 1750 per night.  Many resorts raise prices Nov 1st.

Infomercial much?

I certainly have no affiliation with this resort, merely sharing a positive experience.  Isn’t that OK?

Stayed there a while back. Great place and good value then too. There’s a cool island just opposite you can kayak to and explore the reef there. Also, very affordable massages at the adjacent hotel/resort.
