Well, if this is true, it happened under your watch. Which means you’re an extremely divisive PM. Something you promised to be the opposite of when you illegally took over.

Time to step down and let a real leader come in.

And what about your promise to fight corruption? I doubt if you remember back this far, but when you and your clowns launched a coup, it was ostensibly to restore law and order, which you accomplished

  • So because he claims there was corruption before, it does not excuse his crowd of doing the same.....2 wrongs dont make things right.

“If there had been no coup back then, would there have had a riot?  Have you forgotten what you did that caused the chaos and corruption?  You seem to have a short memory,” said the Prime Minister.

Has he conveniently forgotten that the protests by the opposition, in other words his supporters, instigated the political instability in the early 2010s?

In fact it was his best buddy Suthep in 2013, who caused the chaos, and who openly and proudly admitted after the coup that he planned all this together with Prayut  from scratch on.

Prayut obvioulsy is not only the most notorious liar of Thailand, he also has a very short memory himself.

And what about your promise to fight corruption? I doubt if you remember back this far, but when you and your clowns launched a coup, it was ostensibly to restore law and order, which you accomplished with draconian measures, and to get rid of the rot, and corruption in immigration, the police, customs, the government, and at the highest levels, which you never even made the slightest attempt to do. You substituted 10 foot alligators, with 14 foot crocodiles. And you have spent your entire six years protecting the elite, those in office, the army, the police, those who are connected, and the super wealthy. For God's sake, you could not even bring the Dark Tao killer to justice, nor the Red Bull creep. Again, busy protecting the wealthy with all of your power.

The real problem is, you will not go after any of these guys. Not the top bankers, not the high ranking guys, not the provincial authorities, and certainly not the army, or the police. They are all corrupt beyond imagination. And the level of corruption simply escalates, the further up the food chain you go. As far as most of us are concerned, everything is the same. The police and army are not expected to be honest, and they are not expected to engage in law enforcement, traffic or public safety, on any level. It is an irrevocably broken and dysfunctional system. Any hyperbole to the contrary, is just a smoke screen, intended to deceive the most naive amongst us.

Now, in this time of desperation, with your nation needing you more than ever before, where on earth are you? What have your proposed? Where are the solutions? There are at least a dozen good reasons why you should be removed from office.

WOW !!

Look over there, we are not as bad as the other guy. Thais were impressed with 30 baht hospital costs, don't think they are as impressed with submarines.

Prayut...alleged massive corruption...took place during...Yingluck Shinawatra...using their majority control of the parliament to push their political agenda.

Imagine an elected parliamentary majority doing such a thing.

Big Yellow rally at Lumphini today too.

You mean the dozen or so at US embassy?

Is Prayut saying there is no corruption now?

Then why is there so much corruption of agents using the backdoor to reach corrupted officers?

He borrowed it from a now dead friend, and needed to ensure it was worn in his honor.

The only thing he needs not to forget is the fastest route out of town ????????

Funny thing is, he will not go down in history remembered as a good ole guy who saved Thailand. He now will take this to his grave with the moniker of most hated. Ooops my apologies. One of the most hated and not revered, underhanded corrupted liars of all time. And this he cannot reverse. He will get his wishes though, and I do not think anyone would have the nards to make a statue and erect it of him.

He's in good company with Phibun, Sarit & co. May they rot in hell.

No, there was a gathering of them at Lumphini as well. Looks like their numbers are growing.

Bin Bunluerit, the Thai star that does all that stuff for charity, has given up his philanthropic role to join them looks like.

Ah yes, found in twitter now. Looks like a  couple of hundred. Somebody might tell them it's a bit late to show support for IX though.

In Parliament today a Chiang Rai Phue Thai MP slit his arm really deep. Symbolic craziness now.

cha cha is so out of touch or just evil.   These children see where their future lies, and they want to change it.   They want the military out of government.  Their parents and teachers do not have the intestinal fortitude that these young people have.  Think everyone knew this was going to happen one day.  A coup leader who prances around saying  hie is doing a great job.  Most older people are use to submitting authority figures.   These brave kids are a refreshing change.   I change what will not go away.

"using their majority control of the parliament to push their political agenda"   GASP!!!!!!  noooo

Surely a party who wins a majority never uses it to push their voters agenda?????????

Isnt the issue how they got the majority. That was guaranteed prior to the election.

Is it a democratically obtained majority ???

Indeed it was... not like packing 200 senators friends is it?  buying MP's?  giving jobs to opposition MPs in return for supporting an 'outside' unelected PM?

Yingluck was the last legitimate elected PM - and would win again if ever there were fair elections - the last one who might have succeeded, young Thanathorn, they banned and are now seeking criminal charge!  what a farce

It will take 2 more life times for Thailand to actually get a real democratic government,

and I am being very hopeful with that conservative figure of time.

Geezer

There is not much denying that corruption was rampant during the Yingluck Shinawatra administration -- not to mention the massive graft that also marred the preceding governments, namely those of her brother as well as the Shinawatra proxy governments of Samak Sundaravej and Somchai Wongsawat.

But... YOU, Mr. Prayuth, orchestrated a coup d'etat in May 2014, claiming it was necessary to STAMP OUT corruption. Yes, you even repeatedly PROMISED that this was one of your main goals.

And what DID happen during your almost 7 years of being sort of a self-proclaimed "savior of the country"? What DID you accomplish with regards to stamping out corruption? That's right. Nothing! In fact, corruption under your administration is just as bad as it always has been.

So, please, spare us the moralistic finger. Because it comes across as hypocritical and dishonest, you know?

According to wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prayut_Chan-o-cha ) Prayut today has an estimated net worth of 2 Billion Baht. How exactly is it possible to earn such a wealth in Thailand as a governmental official, and without being a successfull businessman?

Just asking....

I asked the same question recently, and was told by one poster he inherited millions through his fathers land ownership, though I have to say, why would a son in a rich family like that be joining the army? Definitely something not right there.

And you Mr. PM have turned a blind eye to the sometimes monstrous and blatant corruption during your 6-year reign over the population.

and the party’s “parliamentary dictatorship”, using their majority control of the parliament to push their political agenda.

When Taksin was in power , one of the complaints of the disenfranchised elite was that the rural buffaloes didn't understand democracy and only voted in their own interest.

Prayuths statement clearly demonstrates that it is Prayuth and his supporters who don't understand the way democracy works.

His father also was an army guy. So we can ask the same question about him as well.

The Thai army is and always has been nothing but a Mafia-like institution whose main duty is to enrich its leaders on cost of the nation. They are no patriots, especially today, as they ruin the nation and sell it and its people to China right now, only to line up their own pockets. And they don't serve the nation. They rape it.

Now Prayut has been PM for over six years, or  longer than anyone else since the end of absolute Deleted in 1932, except for Thanom's 10 year stint (mainly as military dictator without a constitution but he staged a coup against his own government at one point when he got fed up with parliament) from 1963 to 1973 when he was overthrown by a student uprising.  It remains to be seen whether Prayut has the staying power to beat Thanom's record in office.
