BANGKOK (NNT) - The National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand (NCSWT) is concerned about the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle, especially young riders, so the organization is hosting a video clip competition as a helmet wearing promotion.

According to NCSWT, not wearing a helmet is a cause of death that has been rising every year especially among young children under 15 years old.

The council is determined to raise awareness of the issue and is urging parents to put helmets on their kids, to help make it normal for everyone to wear a helmet anytime they go anywhere by motorcycle.

The video competition is especially aimed at students of any age, who are invited to submit a 2-minute promotional video of helmet wearing by the young.

The winner will be awarded a certificate, a royal trophy and 100,000 baht.

Interested competitors can apply to participate in the competition by visiting www.ncswt.or.th by 30th November.

While the parents don't wear one.... Kids watch how their parents and other adults act, hence the Thai disaster.

Excellent.....

But again, Thailand takes a facet of a problem and handles it as if the real issue does not exist.

Now kids are being asked to promote helmet wearing which circumnavigates the proverbial elephant in the room, that the Police are completely apathetic and ineffective.

Not wearing a helmet is an issue across all age brackets.

This ‘cutesy-na-lak’ approach highlights the juvenile mindset involved.

Our daughter started school last year. She is the only kid in her school that wears a helmet or uses a child seat in the family car.

The probable reason no one bothers much with helmets is they will never save you from the 150kph out of control brake failing micro sleeping pickup driver lurking on every soi ????

While they send them to 7/11 and are only aged 7-11.

The Vietnamese fixed the problem.  Fine the first time, bigger fine the second time and confiscation of bike the third time.  Why can't the RTP do this?  Oh, all right they are a lazy SOB's.
