The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Thursday reported six new cases in quarantine over a 24-hour period.

The latest cases include five foreigners, all asymptomatic:

> A 59-year-old French construction adviser and a 46-year-old Chinese housewife, who travelled from France, transited via Qatar, arriving in Bangkok on October 29. They were found positive on November 3 in a Nonthaburi quarantine hotel.

> A 53-year-old Dutchman, who arrived on October 31, tested positive on November 3 under quarantine in a Samut Prakan hotel.

> Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto, 42, who arrived on a charter flight on November 3 and was confirmed positive the next day. He was taken to the Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute for treatment.

> A 27-year-old Myanmar cargo truck driver, who tested positive at a border checkpoint on October 31. He was deported to Myanmar.

> A 73-year-old Thai woman, who returned from Germany on October 31. She was found positive on November 2 under quarantine at a Bangkok hotel and had fever, muscle ache, diarrhoea and a loss of smell.

Meanwhile, 11 patients have recovered and been discharged.

As of Thursday, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand has increased to 3,810 (861 in state quarantine). Of these, 128 are in hospital and 3,623 have recovered and been discharged. The death toll remains unchanged at 59.

According to Worldometer, as of 10am the number of confirmed global cases has risen to 48.42 million (increasing by 571,314 in 24 hours). Of these, 34.67 million have recovered, 12.53 million are active cases (89,290 in severe condition) and 1.23 million have died (an increase of 9,067).

Thailand ranks a safe 148th for most cases in the world.

The US has the most number, with 9.8 million, followed by India (8.36 million), Brazil (5.59 million), Russia (1.69 million) and France (1.54 million).

Heard from my brother in UK today... UK announced a one month lock down as of Monday.

2nd wave seems to be worse than the first time around.

Thailand is doing good, unlike the predictions from the TVF barstool crowd. ????

Of course Thailand is doing very well, if you don’t test you don’t get cases.

We are well aware of that theory, only those that are tested get infected.

You believe that, like Thailand, the hospitals in the west wouldn't be filling up if they tested less.

Is it any wonder.

Almost every farang I saw last night on my walk between Asoke and soi 4 was not wearing a mask. I try to give them dirty looks, but it's not easy when I'm wearing a mask. How do we get the word across? It's about respect and not giving the government any more reasons to apply bureaucracy to make our lives more difficult; it's not about Covid hardly. Besides the fact that the air here is not clean.

It's good to know that she didn't smell her smell. ( Irony...)

Is it possible that she could bypass the quarantine? Why is it always evil foreigners? It's mindblowing.

Now you're a bit harsh, and you're going way too far with your accusations.

. Not many people wear masks nationwide if they are not going to crowded areas.

We do not wear masks, only when going to a shopping mall or 7/11.
Do you give the "dirty looks" to females only?

( Just kidding, but dirty looks?)

How long have you been here? Three months?

It's a hoax that can quickly receive treatment in the form of a bathroom cleaner. Or not?

More than India?

It's understandable that India- considering its infrastructure- has a high number.

But the US with its superweapons? That's almost funny. Almost.
Superweapons, but indigent healthcare?

Why else are the numbers so high? Let's blame Trump for it. Too many people believed his bs.

I'm thinking India only tests sick people, where the USA tests everyone.

I may be wrong.
