Phetchaburi murder: Charred remains of missing Karaoke woman found under her motorcycle

A murder inquiry is underway in Phetchaburi after the charred remains of a woman who had just started working at a Tha Yang karaoke parlor were found under her burnt motorcycle.

The grisly find at a pineapple plantation in Ban Pong Ta Petch, Wang Jan sub-district was being inspected by police and forensic teams yesterday.

Mushroom pickers had earlier seen the burnt out motorcycle but thought nothing of it until they saw a Facebook post about a missing woman. On closer inspection they saw bones and called the police.

On November 3rd Santi Chartthong had gone to the Tha Yang police after his wife Kanyaphat, 40, failed to return home on her motorcycle from a karaoke lounge where she worked.

She left the lounge at 1 am after closing. The motorcycle found in the pineapple plantation was hers.

He said that he and his wife had not argued and there were no family problems. She had only worked at the lounge for a week after it just opened.

Police are working on the idea that she had a problem with someone she met there or possibly a customer.

Spurned her advances so followed her and killed her?

Whereupon the police sprang into action and arrested them for picking mushrooms.  Case closed.

Oh.  Yeah, there is that other thing.

In the old days if you wanted someone 'Bumped Off' you went to Phetchaburi, that's what that province was famous for in Thailand, Thayang and Ban Lat were like 'Dodge City' although these day's it's quietened down, I remember about 10 years ago visiting relatives in Thayang and seeing this utility car parked outside the police station completely riddled with bullet's  and the inside of the car dried blood everywhere,it sat there the entire month I was there on show for all to see'
