I was recently told that a forum was held by an immigration service provider that immigration was toying with the idea expats will soon need one million  baht in the bank instead of the current 800000 rule. Is this just a silly rumor like so many. ?

Even a press announcement would be considered silly rumors until the updated law (Thai Immigration Policy) is officially posted and Royal Thai Embassies, Consulates, and Immigration Offices actually begin implementing them.

I have no facts, but I've been expecting an increase for a couple of years now. My guess is next increase will be 1 mill or 1.5 mill THB. But this is just my guess.
