PHUKET: Government offices will close this Thursday and Friday (Nov 19-20) as both days have been declared special public holidays to help boost domestic tourism throughout the country.

 

The special public holidays, creating the coming four-day weekend, was approved by the Cabinet in September.

 

In that announcement, the Cabinet also approved another special long weekend in December, by moving the substitution day public holiday for National Father’s Day.

Makes sense to me; tourists don't need government offices to be open to "serve" the public.

Those who have the iron rice bowl jobs should go out and spend more.  That was mentioned on this forum a few times.  Wonder if they read this forum with the intent to glean knowledge.

What about the locals that need to be served by government offices?

But the "government employees" expect the surfs to work and serve them while they relax on their "lets share the expense holiday" !!!!
