I tried Boon Rawd's new beer last night.  It's touted as a strong beer but is still only 5.1 % ABV compared to the standard Leo at 5%. It does seem a little stronger in taste though and slightly better than the standard, although that's not saying much.  Interesting that they use Noble hops. At least they're trying harder.

Like most Thai beers though it's much of a muchness and slightly more expensive.

It has no taste and a stink to it. Stick to the regular Leo!

Perhaps better to wait for number 9. 9 is a lucky number in Thailand.

Being Belgian, I like your sarcasm.

No sarcasm, sorry. I used to drink Leo but switched to Heinekin. I'm not a fan of heavy, dark beer.

There were cans of Celtic Amber in my local 7-11 last week.

But only 4%

Has anyone here tried it?

Maybe it is just a rebrand of Black Dragon Red Beer.

Tastes like water, as you mentioned probably rebranded from the black dragon, which also tasted like water IMO

It's the Black Dragon Red Beer and it is not good in my opinion. New can design but the taste didn't improve.

I tried it today and it is very close to Singha Reserve tastewise. It is sweet and smooth. Big improvement from the normal Leo. However I wish it was more hoppier ????

Does this Leo 8 taste like normal Leo or is it a completely different taste?

I would say it is quite different, very close to Singha Reserve.

I've had another session with Leo No.8 and I could tell for sure that the buzz is similar to premium beers, however the taste is a let down. If you are looking for a nice relaxing feeling, then this beer is the right choice. I'm going to experiment more with it. So far I'm quite pleased.

I thought the feeling it brings after drinking it is way better than the regular Leo. In my opinion Leo No.8 could become a hit!

If you want something stronger try Tappers, 6.5%. Beers with higher alcohol content taste better to me.

Try Kwak....
