Samui Surviving ?

Featured Replies

Having a look on YouTube shows Samui looking very sad right now. is it really that bad there right now ? how are the Expats coping with this ? I remember it as a bustling little tourist island especially Chawang and Lamai

Streets are full with bikes and cars, except the package tourist beach roads. Streets get renewed, new cables, canals ..... A handfull flights per day. Weather this year since months cooler than before. Many, many expats and long stay tourists here. Compared to other places in Thailand probably much younger and diverse. Many farang couples and farang families. More wildlife, big monitor lizards, eagles, herons etc etc  etc, some days ago even a Marlin or similar big fish came to the shore in Nathon. Living direct at the sea and overlooking it daily, I have never seen one or other fish that size in over 30 years on Samui.....
