Adding a Hotmail account to Google, for Google Docs

Been wrestling with this all morning. When I try and add my Hotmail account to Google in order to view Google Docs when people invite me via Hotmail, it says that the Hotmail account is already in use on Google, but it won't let me sign in.

 

Can anybody help?

By the sound of it, you need to recover your account with Google which will allow you to change the password to one that works.
