Chiang Rai records three more COVID-19 cases linked to Thachilek

Three new COVID-19 cases, all of whom are Thai returnees from Myanmar’s border township of Thachilek, were reported in Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Rai today, raising the total number of such infections in the province to 37.

The three new cases are not included in the 18 new cases reported by the CCSA today.

Dr. Tossaporn Boonthong, the provincial health chief, said today that the three new asymptomatic cases, a Thai man and two women, worked at the same entertainment venue in Thachilek and are now in a local quarantine facility.

Thais continue to do a good job with this outbreak. They are all over it. Well targeted testing due to their first rate tracking and tracing. Governors, mayors, gamnans and poo yai baans have ordered a crackdown on the rules again and the public are complying.

3 more asymptomatic infections in Chiang Rai, open and transparent reporting. Hopefully nobody will die from this cluster and things can get back to normal again.

No doubt the anti Thais will be on here to rant and rave as they do daily.

For a bit of perspective, yesterday the USA had 226,953 new cases. And 3,264 dead. The numbers were even worse in Europe. A completely out of control disaster.
Chalk and cheese.

Why do you always think that anyone who has an issue with the way the Thai government is blatantly hiding full statistical numbers is anti Thai.  Why are you also comparing a population of 68 million with no mass testing with a country whose population is 331 million and does mass testing and where all cases are listed even those asymptomatic who are not forced into a quarantine hospital, and where anyone can be tested unlike in Thailand.

Try and think outside the box, and no it is not a conspiracy theory, it is a fact.  Try yourself to look for the stats from January onward in all categories for deaths.  You will find those missing or unavailable. Serms to me your being a government apologist without truly looking into their own data bases.

Try and locate the deaths for those such as Flu and Pnuemonia for all months.

Still harping on.
How are things in your home country? Better than in Thailand right?

For what?

Nowhere in the report does it even hint that any of these people entered Thailand by illegal channels.

Always deflecting as usual and comparing a country with another.  Sounds like a few previous posters who are now gone for obvious reasons.  Stick to the OP, do your research and then post what you can or can not find in the data bases as discussed, until then enjoy your day. Heading out to spend a wonderful day on a nice ride.

Were they caught after crossing the border illegally ?

May be they returned normally , were checked and found to be infected ...?

In this case , no need to jail them ...

I knew you wouldn’t answer.

Because the answer would be yes the Thais have done and are doing a far superior job. And you find that intimidating.

Like the guy who shows up uninvited to a party and then spends the whole night complaining.

Maybe you will find all the morbid information you are chasing here.

Old stats and out of date from 2018, try the site I linked in my response to you. Better luck next time. Enjoy your day. Off on the MC ride to enjoy the lack of traffic as it is a holiday.

Day off? I have had the last 12 years off. No one will give me a job.

the rate of road deaths in Thailand is about 10 times that of most other countries.

the rate of covid deaths in western countries is between 500 and 1200 worse than Thailand.

If a Thai showed up to Norway and started daily harping on about road deaths he would look ridiculous.

You showing up in Thailand and ranting daily about covid deaths is 100+ more ridiculous considering the current numbers.

wear a helmet.
We wouldn’t want to lose you or have you taking up a hospital bed during this pandemic emergency.

warm regards
