I can’t see the option to apply for that either on the consulate website.

SETV is available on web site. Many folk have obtained that and subsequently entered Thailand.

Thanks Jack. I don’t see it on the London embassy site.

2nd from bottom on this page;

It also seems possible to apply through at least the consulate in Cardiff, not sure about any of the others.

Yeah, so that sends you to the .go.th website which then rejects any visa when you say you’re from UK.

The Special Tourist Visa is now listed under requirements for a COE on the London site.

Seems to be some confusion here - the OP asked about a STV - that is different to a SETV.

STV = Special Tourist Visa

SETV = Single Entry Tourist Visa

A 60 day (extendable) Single Entry Tourist Visa became available again a few weeks ago in the UK. Until today's announcement, the STV was only available in countries considered as low risk in terms of Covid 19.

However, according to this TV article, the STV is available to any country so keep an eye on the RTE, London's website..........there ya go, as I was wrting this jacko45k confirmed it is already available.

Note: All visa types carry conditions and all require quarantine.

Only the single tourist visa can be applied for at the honorary consulates. It is not mentioned for STV.

All the embassies are closed due to Covid. Game is over for the UK it seems. Might just head to Cancun and smash some Papi.

There is only one Thai embassy in the UK and it is open for online and mailed in applications. Some things that have to be done person are only done by appointment.

There are also honorary Thai consulates in the UK. But they can only issue the single entry tourist visa.

Thanks everyone, super helpful. Excuse my ignorance as the website is not best laid out, do I just apply for the CoE then? I can’t seem to locate the online application for the single entry tourist.

Cheers

Thanks mate. Yeah, the thaievisa one is the issue it seems. When you select UK and reason for visit as tourism it just rejects you.

I don't appear to get rejected.  Is this the page that you're getting blocked at?

And they are closed at the moment.

The thank you message on their website is a little ominous - it may be that Hull never re-opens.

Not all of them a person contacted the Cardiff consulate about getting single entry tourist visa and they said they would do it.

List of them is here: https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/81958-royal-thai-consulates-in-the-uk-and-ireland?menu=5d6636ce15e39c3bd0007339

Right, well I see that as even more bad news for Hull.

Those of us who used Hull regularly found them very helpful. I had a 12 month multi issued by them long after they were supposed to have stopped doing so.  Granted, they sent the paperwork to London for approval but it saved me a trip and I wasn't without my passport. Great service - they'll be missed if they are closed permanently.

I feel your pain Scofield. When I enter purpose of visit I get a banner saying invalid. It feels like the site isn’t rendering to iPad format? If that’s a thing.

Anyone know when we can apply for this? There’s been zero update since it was announced and it’s still not possible to apply.

Best contact the embassy. They may just not have updated the website.

Best of luck with that.  Ubonjoe noted that some consulates are open.  I think there's a better chance of getting some sense at a consulate.  When London are busy they just stop answering the phone and fail to reply to emails.

I'm trying this too, I don't get rejected either. I get the above, then was able to upload my passport photo page and a photo.

But my question is, where do we say on this form that we want to apply for a STV rather than TR visa?

And on the following step, it asks for flight confirmation, hotel confirmation etc etc to be uploaded. Does all this need to be booked even before the visa is issued?

I applied 2 weeks ago to London embassy for 'at the time' an STV , it was postal only as london embassy was in lockdown, and i live on the island of Jersey.

passport got returned yesterday, on its lonesome, no returned paperwork,  no barcoded coe receipt, and declaration form, not returned. But i had a Single entry TR visa stamp inside, full page.

I have since paid for  "pre booked"  flight and ASQ hotel. Hotel has sent me 2 forms to send back to them, i assume they must have all my paperwork too, to receive me. they have asked for all my details too.

Joe..my COE enquiry has now closed on the ministry website, as its been completed, but the embassy did not return my declaration form nor barcdoed coe receipt(all i sent in and had)... does my TR visa now override those papers and no longer needed for presentation, you think ?

i still need to book nearer the time my ftf certificate and pcr covid test.. will be interesting as i fly on 4th Jan, a monday..and getting a doc to test me and send me results  either on fri 1st jan, the sat at latest maybe a problem here in jersey... ho fkin hum

i just posted this on expat fb page :

Hope this helps some folk..ive just booked in at the sofitel heathrow..the night before..they do a "rest and test" package for 175 gbp all in..and gaurantee the pcr test results..within 18 hours and for 70 pounds you can expidite the thing quicker. This price is cheap when u think room and test together. Please Google rsst and test..sofitel for more details.. very helpful on phone too. Sofitel. They say they issue a fit to fly aswell.. but ive read the problems with that..not both from same doctor or place..so will get my ftf probably online after it comes back. Couriers here in jersey were not working during 24th dec to 4th jan..returning covid tests back to the island, from uk labs...so have to go to london before hand..and this situation for 175gbp seemed best and chepaest option. Hope helps some others.

Not following you Marlene. So you’ll need 2 nights at the Sofitel then which will in turn cost you more. If you get the negative test you’ll then need to send away for your fit to fly which will take a further 24 hours potentially.
