Thai netizens were full of praise for a child who sells sweets at a gas station in Ayutthaya in central Thailand after she handed in 6,500 baht she found left at an ATM machine.

Mai Prisa on Facebook explained that she realised she had left her money at the machine half an hour after.

She went back and the sweet seller said she had handed it into the counter of a supermarket.

Locals said the little girl was poor but diligent.

Mai praised the actions of the honest child and was followed by many people online.

Mai said that most people leave their ATM cards in machines - she left the cash.
