PHUKET:-- The first international tourists to land at Phuket International Airport since the COVID-19 lockdown began eight months ago, arrived in Phuket today (Dec 18).

Without any fanfare before the historic event, the Phuket office of the Public Relations Department of Thailand (PR Phuket) announced the news with a Facebook post at 5:49pm this evening with the headline “Ministry of Foreign Affairs Facilitates Qatar Airlines to Phuket”.

The 30 passengers arrived on Qatar Airways Flight QR 978 direct from Doha, touching down in Phuket at 11:45am today, said the report.

Now safely under lock and key to start their holiday on a high note ????

I hope that they didn´t contaminate any clean domestic passengers in the airport.

you wonder how many of them will test positive

I immediately thought Frankenstein. The virus has affected him somehow.

I like the bananas in the picture, they look adorable in their yellow body condoms.

You will never know, cant lose face, a serious question, i wonder what reception they will have when they start to move about, will people be scared of them or welcome them with  open arms, daily people ask me where i am from like are you a tourist or do you live here, there is a happy expression on there face when i tell them i have been in Los many years and have not been out if the country for the last 2 years, there is a fear amongst thai people that is why i asked the Question" how will they the Thai people"

They look more like Asians than Arabs.

Would be interesting to know what their Nationality was

Get a idea from which countries these Tourists are from

First lot were Chinese big fanfair when they arrived then nothing

My thoughts as well - carrying what looks like a document bag, but then I thought he may have been on his way to collect hs suitcase from baggage recovery.

I think this might be common to flights arriving in Thailand. Flew Emirates A380 full from uk to Dubai. Connecting 777 to Bangkok 10% full .

And that attitude is why westerners who are real tourist will stay well of away from Thailand  because people dont forget. I think they have a very high risk of catching Covid from their incarceration. The insanity of thinking Thailand is Covid free when it kept is borders open to china the epicenter of the virus and are surrounded  by land bordered countries full of Covid. Dont test dont find!!!

So they are not trusting whatever certificates and tests these tourists may have had done, or how clean the aeroplane was !

Wow, what will the hoteliers and resort owners of Phuket and the surrounding provinces do with the millions of tons of money these 30 "tourists" will have raining all over the south? Time to partee...

These 30 people aren't going to make much of a dent in the sadly hurting Hotel industry, the shops/restaurants etc. that are barely keeping their heads above water.. VERY SAD with NO END IN SIGHT.
