Photo: PR Phuket PHUKET:-- Phuket Vice Governor Vikrom Jakthee late today (Dec 22) went public to dismiss rumours that Phuket is already under lockdown as false. Vice Governor Vikrom, declaring himself to be acting as a spokesperson for the Phuket Provincial Government said, “Phuket lockdown is not true. Many rumors have spread on various social media platforms saying the Phuket Government has announced the closure of the province. I confirm this is not true.” Mr Vikrom explained, “We started taking action three weeks ago, before the outbreak in Samut Sakhon, after we were warned that people from Myanmar were trying to sneak back into the country, and possibly to Phuket.
