... still seeing them now.

They were supposed to be outlawed about 15 years ago but the manufacturers asked for "more time", seems the regulators forgot ????

  • Capacitive leakage through the mains filter, slightly iffy insulation, magic.   You have a Class-1 appliance running with no ground, a potentially lethal (or as you are finding tingly) combi

  • Are you SURE the transformer isn't an auto-transformer? If it were an isolated secondary you wouldn't get a shock even if you got hold of one of the output wires (DON'T we want to keep you as a member

  • Geezus, throw the bloody thing away and buy yourself a Philips blender. Plenty of them in Powerbuy or HomePro. Is your life worth the 800 baht it would cost you?

I'm tempted to lock this thread until our OP comes back and tells us he's installed a ground/earth on his mixer.

Ouch! Are they really 100 Baht now?

Unless you are going to have warranty issues cut off the Schuko and put on a decent local 3-pin.

I like the Haco 3-pin as it lets the cord hang parallel to the wall (make sure your outlet has neutral at the top), they are a lot more robust than they look (I've never had one fail mechanically).

Great idea 60,000 baht near new Kitchenaid commercial mixer. Why didn't I think of that 5555 ????

I thought one could not work as a cook or chef in Thailand, banned occupation. $3000 AUD for a freaking kitchen appliance? Who are you, Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsay?

It does actually look pretty robust, shame there's no grounding apparent.

Attention the "Usual Suspects", we have another member asking how to run his  vibrator Hitachi Magic-Wand in Thailand, ripe for some innuendo, leave our serious thread alone :whistling:

Not as immature as someone who gets zapped by a kitchen mixer, a laptop, AND an electric guitar, and is still trying to fix the problem.
