Hotel staff were featured in a story by Talk News online selling breakfasts on Phetchkasem Road. Popular foods such as "joke" or congee and patongo (fried batter) were on sale.

Dr Rungroj Sileuangsawat of the Prachuap Khiri Khan tourism business association and executive of the Hua Hin Grand Hotel and Plaza said he had never seen business so bad in all his time as a hotelier especially now that the area was placed in severe Covid restrictions for 28 provinces.

The hotel has kept on its 80 staff but seeing as they have so little to do they have been turned into chefs and food servers to make some extra money.

Also on the breakfast menu is soy milk at 7 baht. Patongo is available at one baht each and joke is priced at 15-20, ten baht more with an egg.

The hotel are also doing meals inside at their courtyard where dishes like fried rice and kapow are priced from 40 baht up and are available from 10am to 8pm. Home delivery is also possible.

Waiting for the news that they have started offering roadside oil massages at discounted rates.

As long as they set up a curtain I'm ready to go! ????

I say good on 'em showing initiatives, better than sit home do nothing, hopefully it will catch on with other hotels...
