PHUKET: Police arrested a Nigerian man in Patong on Tuesday (Jan 19) after officers found him carrying crystal meth (ya ice). Police later found cocaine and ecstasy at the man’s rented accommodation in Kamala.

Covid-19 has become a hot topic in the entertainment industry and some stars have gone for virus tests after well-known host Techin Ploypetch, or DJ Matoom, posted a video clip on Instagram saying he was infected with the coronavirus and apologised to everyone affected. He also posted pictures of himself in hospital.

SRT Red Line fare set at Bt14-Bt42

The maximum fare for the Red Lines has been set at Bt42, according to a source at the Department of Rail Transport. Due to start operating this year, the Dark Red Line from Bang Sue-Rangsit will charge Bt14-42 while the Light Red Line from Bang Sue-Taling Chan will charge Bt14-38. The maximum fare to ride both lines together is Bt42.

Bangkok and 32 other provinces across Thailand are being affected by air pollution today (Thursday), with the likelihood that the problem will get worse tomorrow and Saturday, because of poor air circulation, resulting in the accumulation of airborne dust, according to the Pollution Control Department.

New US President seen as positive for Thai-US trade

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has assessed that the commerce policies of new US President Joseph Biden will boost trade between Thailand the United States, noting that the new leader’s decision to maintain his predecessor’s policies towards China will allow Thailand to continue to supply certain goods and will likely increase Thai exports to the US by 4 percent this year.
