Chiang Mai’s buffet, hot pot restaurants can serve as usual

Chiang Mai’s communicable diseases committee has announced that it is lifting some restrictions as of Thursday.

 

After this, restaurants offering diners self-service options such as buffets, shabu-shabu, hot pot, etc, can open normally.

 

Alcohol, however, can only be served until 10pm.

We went to Sizzors yesterday and had their salad bar and  an entree.

 

I appreciate how they have what called a sneeze guard protection over the buffet style salad bar and strictly enforce their mask policy.

 

One uncovered sneeze or cough puts a nice spread of germs all over the food in the photo:

 

 

Damn, that "hot pot" has certainly put a smile on his face ????

So I can go to a buffet and ingest food containing hair, skin cells and snot from previous customers but I cannot go into a bar for a quiet beer.

Be sure to touch all the tongs that every single person there has touched as well...but dont worry the thais are masters when it come to sanitation--hand washing--food handling and proper holding temps...i meat just look at that lovely warm meat tray!!!    (gurgle--blurg.......burp...pfffftttt)

 

(speaking as someone who cooked in a upscale market in LOS....where many"understandings" occurred)

You could walk along the street and get pancaked by a 10 wheel truck too.

It seem from the article that you can do that just not after 10pm.
