PS: If it's NOT a Hitachi and only a cheaper Chinese clone, then don't bother getting it refurbished.

Thank you. Have decided on replacement.

The electrician has recommended Mitsubishi (apparently not the cheapest but one highly recommend). It goes in tomorrow, so will hopefully move on from that issue.

On an aside unrelated....I dip my hat to all the guys that have built houses or done renno here. I speak zero Thai. I'm shortly off to Homepro for paint to do kitchen (also being done tomorrow). Trying to get across to painter that I want done re sealer and satin or low sheen topcoat  is difficult.

  • It could be a simple leak in a pipe somewhere causing the pressure to drop and the pump to operate. Also check cistern float valves for the same reason.

  • Ah yes, the "old pump needs replacing" game. A quick and effective (but expensive) fix. If the pump is a name brand like Hitachi or Mitsubishi, chances are it needs some seals, o-rings and gaskets ren

  • It won't be running continuously just because it is old........IMO......sounds like he is creating work for himself and expense for you.

The can will usually have English description/instructions along with Thai.  Make sure they clean the surface before putting down any paint.
