A group of souped up pick-up enthusiasts from Pattaya called "Spirit Pattaya" responded after reports that a male elephant called Khun Phaen was suffering because there were no tourists due to the pandemic.

They cut down five tons of sugar cane and piled it onto a lorry and ten pick-ups and took it from Bang Phra in SiRacha to feed the elephant and thirty others.

They also bought a large quantity of bananas with cash donations taking no money for their own expenses, said group leader Apichart Nankat, 28.

Anyone wishing to make donations of sugar cane or bananas can contact 089 982 4823.
