Popular Post webfact Posted February 18, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 18, 2021 Stop Panning Pattaya! Hard not to as beach is washed away after heavy rain - again Picture: Pattaya Update News Calls have been made to "Stop Panning Pattaya" but it is hard not to after the floods on Wednesday caused yet more chaos and devastating damage to one of its pride and joys - the multi million baht beach. Thaivisa's Sunday columnist Rooster coined the phrase in an attempt to get people behind the local mayor and business leaders to get Pattaya on its feet and encourage development. But just an hour of rain on Wednesday afternoon left traffic chaos and flooding in many places including Sukhumvit Road, Sai 3 and Beach Road, reported Pattaya Update News. Picture: Pattaya Update News At 2 am this morning they reported that the floods had subsided but published pictures of huge crevices as floodwaters had eroded the beach. And there under the cover of darkness - perhaps in an effort to avoid losing face - was a city hall JCB trying to put matters right before anyone saw it in the light of day. Mayor Sontaya Khunpluem - under increasing pressure to put things right and stop wasting budget - has his work cut out. Popular Post J Town Posted February 18, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 18, 2021 I really can't wrap my head around the concept of why it wouldn't be so easy to create drainage from beach road straight into the gulf. It's like 30 meters away! 4

It's like 30 meters away! I guess you were not here about 2015 there was a major project to do just that (search) . 2m pipes going out hundreds of meters offshore at North, soi6 ,and South end. Involved crane barges, work boats and construction of sumps like shown here. The project was not engineered correctly and as shown the pipes filled up with sand. And this latest drainpipe along Beach rd.? I guess it's better than nothing. 3

That's why i used 'the '' in my post ''busy'' here means they give the appearence of some work in progress meanwhile the money is changing hands When the deal will be complete, the work will finally goes with a cheap substandart realisation (Using the money remaining) taking years to be partialy achieved and with a buch of defects, as usual untill the next project or the next rehabilitation rinse and repeat, the eternal Pattaya mantra
