BANGKOK (NNT) - People who are eligible to join the Rao Chana campaign, each receive 3,500 baht per month for two months. Today (Feb 22) is the first day for people without smartphones, the elderly and the disabled to sign up at any branch of the Government Savings Bank (GSB) or the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), in addition to Krungthai Bank (KTB).

At the GSB head office, numerous people without smartphones, mostly the elderly, have arrived to sign up for the Rao Chana campaign. The bank had prepared personnel, desks and chairs to ensure proper customer service.

At the BAAC headquarters, assistance and service were provided to the applicants, most of whom were senior citizens and existing clients of the bank.

With the two-state run banks facilitating Rao Chana registration, the number of visitors to KTB branches is moderaring. Most applicants are senior citizens.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance has cooperated with the Ministry of the Interior to set up at least 3,500 mobile registration units, to help those who cannot travel to these bank branches. Government and bank officials are being sent to these units to provide assistance from February 22 to March 5, 2021.
