...meanwhile, almost 30% of the UK population have have their 1st dose of vaccine. Either Prayut is afraid of the vaccine, or there isn't actually any vaccine here, or he just wants to prolong re-opening the country to pesky foreigners and keep Thais under restrictions for longer. What else could the real reason be?

Blaming Prayuth for the failure of the leading countries of the world to help their fellow man.

Covid-19 vaccines are being hoarded by rich countries — poor ones are missing out

Higher income countries like the U.S. and the U.K. are putting themselves at the front of the line — that's obviously what's happening," one expert said.

Lost among the jubilation of America's vaccine rollout this week is an uncomfortable reality: The world's poorest countries will have to wait months and possibly years to see any doses at all.

The U.S., Canada, Britain and the European Union have pre-ordered enough Covid-19 shots to inoculate their populations several times over, subject to regulatory approvals.

Canada has ordered a staggering 362 million doses for their population of only 37.6 million. However they have struggled to get their vaccination program underway with only around 1.1 million of their citizens getting their first shot.

Plenty of Sinovac for them. What's the problem?

Ha ha ha.  117 thousand doses, divide by two and that's all that get inoculated.

That's diddly squat.  That's nothing.  Zilch.

Ha ha ha.  They botched it.  They can get 117 thousand a week and it will take how long to get everyone the shot?

Ha ha ha!

It seems the fax machine at government house is down so perhaps the paperwork is traveling through the Thai Post.  God help us all.  Do you think they sold the Astra Zeneca vaccine?

There’s been a Burmese General in town and I’m sure that the Burmese junta and there cronies will be looking to protect themselves, just sayin.

I certainly want the vaccine but they all need specific storage and transport requirements.

At this point I do not trust how any of this will be handled here.

They do all have different requirements, but in the case of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, the requirements are minimal and very easy to conform with.

According to the information on the Irish government's health services website (www.hse.ie) it can be stored for 6 months at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and is stable at room temperature for many hours, as follows:

Quote

the product may be kept and used at temperatures up to 30°C for a single period of up to 6 hours

[...]

There are no special handling requirements for routine handling of the Covid-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca.

He explained that this particular shipment came from South Korea. Although there is a letter of certification from AstraZeneca, but it was intended for South Korea, it will need a documentation from AstraZeneca specific to Thailand.

So, no ceremony when the AstraZeneca arrived?

Weird, very weird, story. What's behind it is anybody's guess. Worst opening promo of a vaccine program you could imagine. Like, there must be some ulterior motive, no-one could be this incompetent, could they?

Probably realized that they struggle to keep a beer cold so baulked at the last minute

So how is a certification for South Korea different from a certification for Thailand? Some bureaucrat pencil pusher is creating a public relations disaster, which is going to make x number of people nervous about getting vaccinated...!

Have you guys read what was going on in Brasil the last few days?

They were vaccinating people but those people later got suspicious.

The vaccine was never injected or the syringe was never filled.

Just a publicity  for how good they care about their old people.
