What a total embarrassment for not just the Army, but the Government as well.

Embarrassment is not a Thai thing, they are into denial! It saves face!

From the linked article, 3 months+ later ...

Don't they have Military Police here?

Why do they have any police here?

Is anyone really surprised.

Now that vaccinations are about to start, you can bet a number of dodgy vaccination centres will open forthwith in a shop-house centre near to you very soon.....

So he was a doctor? Trust me, I'm a doctor....
PS in Thairath if I understood it correctly, they were injected with tetanus vaccine, not distilled

water which he procured from India. Also the doctor concerned suffered from Myasthenia gravis,  a medical condition resulting in muscle weakness, which should have barred him from entry to the army, so he shouldn't have been there in the first place.
He's yet to appear and defend himself before  a medical tribunal and the medical committee has said he'll be struck off if he doesn't show up.

When I was in the military, there was no crime considered lower than that of Stealing from your own.

No 'moved to an inactive post' for him. ''The officer was fired from military service and stripped of his medical license, said the supreme commander''.

That, in itself is a pretty severe punishment.

IMO the guy should be serving a severe prison sentence.

Always wondered why those helmets are so large as all the wearers seem to have so little to fill them with.

He was 'invited' to attend a hearing but didn't turn up!  As a member of the elite club, like the Red Bull Brat, he feels above the law.

Yes, A bit like the civilian police do nothing all day

I say, that is a bit unfair - lots of VIPs to be escorted through traffic lights, gold shops to guard ( if the shop owner has the right "influence") and so on.

Just strutting around the bus stations, in those extraordinary tin hats and very tight barrack dress, giving grief to conscripts going on leave, is quite exhausting you know...

The real solution is to just have him sit in a room and "talk" to the people that he fleeced.

Preferably with a shower facility available  with a wet soapy floor

So you could  tell if you were injected with water or a vaccine?

Well there is the fact that not a single vaccine had been approved for use (outside of China or Russia) at the time this happened, in November. That might have been a clue.

The vaccine is clear, so how would anyone know?

I am sure you do not check all the labels of the injectables which have been administered to you by person you trusted

To be fair to the soldiers, that's pretty much what happened.

According to the original article:

Quote

The commander of the Thai troops in South Sudan had received complaints from his troops about the vaccinations, as they became suspicious because the vaccine bottles did not have any label.

Yes indeed, often seen at fetes and festivals throughout the land wearing their distinctive helmets. They can be heavy handed to say the least, especially those with truncheons/nightsticks, as I have personally witnessed when living in Thailand:-

Yea this happened back in November last year when the Thai army were in the Sudan, they were obviously trying to keep a lid on this. Its just come back and bit them on the foot.

There a quite a few strange issues with this story.

A newspaper out of Bangkok, this morning carries a report that the " Doctor " was found out by UN personnel, and it was not C19 Vaccine he was selling but Flu Jabs at $20 each, and turned out to be Vitamin Supplements and Saline..

This issue is also reported to go back as far as March 2020, and the " Doctor " was a replacement Guy that had not been screened ???

All very weird.

Not only was this Guy found out by UN Staff, but the incident was on on Foreign Soil whilst the Thai Army were on peace keeping duties with the UN.

For sure the UN will be seeking answers to this.
