Pink ID card

Seems to be a hit or a miss. Bangkok bank wouldn't let me withdraw using my pink card. Did you open the account with only the pink card?

No, as I said, I opened the account w/ Bangkok Bank w/ my passport. I had no pink card at that time.

Now I can use pink card and bank book to withdraw money OTC. I've not had occasion to withdraw more than B400,000.

Surprising the number of authoritative Bangkok Bank policymakers we have on the forum.

I guess everything can be hit or miss, but I use my pink card for most ID requirements nowadays: hotel check ins, post office, money deposit, SS, address verification for retirement extension, etc. I find it wins a friendly reception w/ Thais.

  • You will hear shouts for and against equally strong. There are MANY topic on this item.   Personally, it was easily obtained, better to have than not have, convenient for some things as you

  • Just to make it clear: yellow book is the first step and the real "hurdle" (sometimes easy, sometimes not)? After that the pink ID should not make much headache.

  • It depends ...   Partly on just how much it's going to cost to obtain (certified and translated documents), the requirements vary by ampur office (of course).   It certainly won't
