Amazing Thailand: Five year old twins get married in Nakhon Sri Thammarat

Unfaithful husbands have been greatly in the news recently sneaking off from their wives to marry their mistresses.

But now something else entirely comes out of the south of Thailand.

Two five year old twins got married in the village of Krung Yan, Thung Yai in the province of Nakhon Sri Thammarat.

Daily News reported that the wedding had all the trappings of a real event including the "hae khan maak" (wedding procession) and plenty of raucous music.

Tying the knot were Wirasak and Rewadee's children B and Bream, aged five.

The children looked a bit bemused in their white outfits but everyone had a great time.

Some Thais believe that twins come with some baggage of bad karma.

To assuage any possible bad luck it is a good idea to marry them off.

In the photo on the right, the boy looks like he just saw a ghost. The girl looks like she just saw the future.

Wife says this is quite common for twin boy and girl....not a real marriage by any stretch....

I've worked it out: Incest is not allowed legally, so unofficial incest is encouraged.

any twin sisters over the age of twenty who want to work off their bad karma can volunteer at my school for wayward uni girls.

I'm guessing these are the same sort of people hunting two headed cows and burnt tree stumps for lottery numbers

...good to see children in 2021 still trust in their parents superior intelligence and guidance on such matters.

I thought this was a reprint of a former article but I see  the date is recent. There was a similar article a few years ago of same situation a brother and sister ( twins ) marrying who were also around the same age.

And in other areas of the world:

That will be a 5000 baht fine and don't get caught doing it again. Another words, enforced the same way as every other law in Thailand is.

Surely you have. You're nowhere near fresh off the boat!

But are they brother and sister ? They don’t look at all like twins and are not the same size, the girl looking to be older and bigger .

She must get first go at their food.

And they talk about rednecks from Alabama ????

My wife says that it may be they believe they were married in a previous life, so this is a  symbolic way of reuniting them.

It could be worse.

Most Australian Aboriginal groups killed twins at birth. And some Laos hill tribes still do...

Oh no, this is going to take all my pocket money forever just to pay off the sin sod.9pm.jpg.f90df623a79e60a40792b2e7c6de9d18.jpg.62451f42aed224184ff82bfa40304831.jpg
