AZ is currently running a large scale trial meeting all statistical requirements in order to make sure it satisfies the FDA, so we will soon have more reliable data.

So vinny41 will acknowledge previous data was not reliable then?

.. and the FDA is right to demand scientific evidence before injecting US citizens with AstraZeneca?

Who has stated that the previous data was not reliable

Was it the The European Medicines Agency that stated that or is it just You

Read that

Quote

About 10m vaccine doses have been exported from plants in EU member states to the UK, largely by Pfizer/BioNTech. The UK is waiting on around 30m more Pfizer doses and 30m from Johnson & Johnson – although only some of those had been expected to be delivered by the end of the summer.

The UK government was until the last fortnight on course to beat its target of delivering a first vaccine dose to every adult in the UK by the end of July by over six weeks, according to Airfinity.

The UK doesn't need to vaccine 100% of its population, they should be giving all those doses to save lives elsewhere.

This is petty national-populist selfishness.

I feel we are completely legitimate. The EU has already started to share its production from the beginning and should continue to do so. But we are done with sending vaccines to the UK, in this situation, this is just stupid.

Doses bound for the UK should go where they are needed.

In the meantime the UK has its own AZ production and they will selfishly keep it anyway even though they would be more useful elsewhere.

Why shouldn't  the entire population of the UK including 5 million EU nationals living in the UK be entitled to have the vaccine if the so wish. The EU is planning to vaccinated  every single person in the each EU county

The UK has always said once the UK AZ production plants have supplied the UK they are free to supply whoever they want.

Maybe because you have had your 1st jab , you feel that you entitled to dictate who has the jab and who is refused the jab

Do you really need an explanation for prioritization? Herd immunity? % of kids dying from covid (close to zero) compared the % of 75+ dying

There are currently no plans for children to be vaccinated with the Oxford-Astrazeneca jab in the UK, as it has only been authorised to prevent Covid in people aged 18 or over.

Interestingly enough, UK now wants to get supplied by the Netherlands AZ plant. So Let's say that after the EU plants have supplied the EU, they are free to supplywhoever they want! ????

Th

At the moment the plant in the Netherlands is not approved to supply anyone in the EU as it doesn't have regulatory approval

Without regulatory approval, vaccines produced at Halix cannot be used in the EU.

Former EU member Britain has so far administered many more vaccines than EU countries in proportion to the population.

"The Brits are insisting that the Halix plant in the Netherlands must deliver the drug substance produced there to them. That doesn't work," the official told Reuters.

yeah "That doesn't work", dear national-populist politicians????

and with your own British vaccine production, please now supply the people in the world that really need it

in Thailand even ????

instead of keeping it for yourselves like you have been doing.

So what? AZ is not even approved in the US and jabs are stored to be used after approval.

Interestingly enough the reason why it is not yet approved is......... that AZ has not sought approval! ????

Hmmmm!

EU export ban would delay UK Covid vaccine drive by two months

Exclusive: Halting distribution would hit Britain badly but not significantly help EU, analysis finds

Britain’s Covid vaccine programme faces a two-month delay in the event of an EU export ban, derailing the government’s plans to reopen the economy this summer, an analysis for the Guardian reveals.

A ban, due to be debated by leaders of the 27 EU member states on Thursday, would badly stall the UK vaccination effort, and would be likely to force the government to extend restrictions on people’s lives

Not only Berlin. Munich and some other German cities as well. Canada as well. The German vaccine committee will probably change their guidelines so expect the whole of Germany to follow suit soon.

Apparently there is a significant higher risk for this group, and given the fact that they can be given an mRNA vaccine instead, that seems to be the favorable solution from a risk management perspective.

"Following population-based analyses of VIPIT assessing risk of COVID-19 disease by age, and considering that alternate products are available (i.e., mRNA vaccines), from what is known at this time, there is substantial uncertainty about the benefit of providing AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to adults under 55 years of age given that the potential risks associated with VIPIT, particularly at the lower estimated rates," committee officials said.
