Thailand’s Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned of summer storms affecting 48 provinces on Monday.

People in the north and northeastern regions especially have been warned about strong winds and heavy downpours potentially causing damage to property.

The storm is the result of a high pressure system from China, with only parts of southern Thailand set to avoid adverse weather conditions.

According to the TMD, the affected provinces are:

North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun.

Northeast: Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima and Buriram provinces

Central region: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom, including Bangkok and its vicinity.

Eastern region: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

South: Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon.

We got hammered last night, serious wind, torrential rain for about 30 minutes, no damage to our home.

Hopefully the storms will help lower the horrendous PM2.5 air pollution currently inundating the country. At least it's more difficult to burn the rice  fields in the rain.

Expected some heavy wind and lots of rain. Not one rain drop seen and not a single leaf of the weakest tree seems to have been harmed overnight... Some storm...

Here in Sriracha hardly and rain just enough to help the weeds grow no wind as yet

I'll go start the mower right away...????

Looks like the line of windy wets has already passed through the Bangkok - Trat line and now heading SW over the gulf and approaching Prachuab and Chumpon. Can't see much of anything left over Isaan now. Not sure if more to come:

We had similar, along with the obligatory power cut after an electric pole somewhere in the area fell over. T'was ever thus, and will continue to be. It rains, we lose power, year after year after year after year, and nothing is done about it.

Terrific winds and heavy rain and hail here (mid Si Saket) for around 2 hours yesterday PM. We lost power for just under 5 hours.

Bangkok is no different today. Can't see anything out the window. All black, like in the clouds. Air filters are going nuts.

Early season rains.....March/April

Been the norm for the last decade and more.
