They were an unusual seizure as part of a drugs bust of a man known as "Kuk Rayong" (the Rayong cook).

Six foreign breed cats.

The moggies were all well cared for and well fed but their status was tricky, said secretary of the Narcotics Control Board Wichai Chaimongkhol.

Essentially, relatives would have had to have shown that the cats were not bought with drug money, something they have been unable to prove, reported Naew Na.

Thus the cats could not be bailed, it appeared.

Consequently the animals are part of the assets seizure and subject to sale by public auction next month.

They have been seen to by vets and are under good care in the meantime, he said.

An assessment of their value will be made on April 19th followed by an announcement then the auction on the 23rd and 24th.

What a crazy world we live in let the cats be adopted by a family who will take care of them all it’s so cruel to separate them just for money

Maybe the offerers of homes for the cats have not offered enough yet
