On Wednesday morning at 9am police captain Nipphon Kannika of the Wiang Nong Long police in Lamphun, northern Thailand got a call about a murder.

Next to a house he found 39 year old Nikorn with no shirt, just wearing blue shorts lying on his side.

He had had his head bashed in with a breeze block and had been dead about 12 hours. The body was sent to Lamphun Hospital for autopsy.

It soon emerged that the murderer was his wife Suchada, 40, who was arrested at some relatives' place.

She explained that she and her husband had been drinking alcohol when an argument developed. She claimed he hit her first so she attacked him with the breeze block and killed him. This happened just after 7pm Tuesday.

She then went to her relatives.

Sanook reporters investigated and found Pradapdeuan, 52, a lady who owns a grocer's two kilometers away in a neighboring village.

She showed the press CCTV from 7.43 pm in which an ashen faced woman with leaves in her unkempt hair claimed to have just killed her husband with a breeze block.

Being someone who everyone knew was a habitual liar no one believed her claims.

Yes, there was blood on her hands but it didn't look like much, the grocer explained.

The shoppers and herself just put it down to another domestic dispute between the pair.

Until next morning when the truth emerged.

Sanook published a short video of the scene of the crime. An area showing a fire was not explained.

Doubt if this would have happened if they had been bonging instead of boozing.

Hear, hear!

Toxic rotgut has caused a lot of problems among the chao-bahn.

Anyone who has spent time in the countryside can see it clearly.
