New Roadworks in progress - Railway Bypass road

Featured Replies

Note for those using the Railway Bypass road (Lieb Tang Rodfai Rd) heading South (from Siam Country Club towards Soi Chaiyapruek).

They have started the drainage pipe project on the stretch between Nern Plerb Wan and Khao Talo. Stretches of the road will be down to 1 lane where they are actively digging. Can't wait until they get to Boonsamphan and dig that up. Again.

All going well they won't leave the project sitting idle for nearly two years. Again. Like they did on that stretch just before the Khao Talo intersection. (Where that woman's car got swept away last year.)

I noticed that in addition to the large black drain pipe they also had pallets of smaller pipes, looked to be about 4" (10 cm) in diameter stacked along the road. Maybe they are laying electrical cables underground at the same time ?

There is also work at the Hwy 36 end Southbound where traffic is down to a single lane, and sometimes gets stopped altogether for a few minutes as the work encroaches. I drove from Hwy 36 to South of the Threppasit junction last week, and it was a pain!
