Sounds ideal - “For the first time it is recognised that the solution is not to make cars greener, but simply to reduce their number,” said Olivier Schneider of the FUB." - I know that electric cars have to be part of the solution, but, except for tailpipe emissions they create all the same waste as regular cars in terms of brake pads, brake fluids, tires, etc etc.

For example, almost 1/3 of all the 'microplastic' (polymers less than 5mm) in the world's ocean comes from car tires and brakes yet no-one ever considers that when they buy a new set of tires or brake pads.

And a grant to buy an electric bicycle ???? what wrong with an ordinary bike.

Why not ban car entry to city areas.

A lot of money has been spent on 2 roads that by-pass our village but a great number of through traffic still goes through these days,

I hope they will pave out the centre and divert the traffic one day.

As shown in Figure 4 for the central scenario, close to two-thirds (63.1%) of the releases are due to first the laundry of synthetic textiles (34.8%), and second to the erosion of tyres while driving (28.3%).
