Seems to me they are just about to propagate a mass road death program by the public now rushing at 200kph to get back home before they can't and undo any 'good' they may have done with road deaths in Songkran in the first few days

Well especially this week of all weeks..the ones who have it will be now sitting around with massive extended families and friends they need to catch up with.What could possibly happen after the biggest holiday of the year?One can only hope I suppose but par the course where this has been repeated around the world it hasn't exactly ended happily I 'm afraid to say!The testing and tracking will be of no use when it explodes into the thousands a day which means they'll have to go into mass lockdowns in order to control the spread!

So you expect the government to release documents that would prove that they were falsely reporting ? this is Earth not Mars. Common sense and statistical date from around the world is wonderfully illustrative unless you live under a rock I guess.

I totally agree. By now, we can only guess at the real figures. We all know it's about saving face. Covid, not us. It was only last week I posted that Thailand needed a lockdown but was called ridiculous by some members. Do they still feel the same? There's only one way out of this, lockdown AND vaccination then ongoing vaccinations against newer variants. None of which is happening. Thailand you are so far off the ball it's ridiculous.

Gotta get those numbers up somehow. Been lagging last year and this. However, those 97 CV-19 deaths are scaring the <deleted> out of 'em.

Well it seems the UK learnt this the hard way and that was exactly what they had to do in order to get their lives back..Has Thailand got the leadership and the people the mental resolve for such a prolonged self imposed lockdown?Testing times ahead I fear..Stay Safe!

The problem with lockdowns in a country like Thailand is that there is little to no social support for people who are suffering financially or Psychologically

It happens, what had to be expected:

 

1) You increase the tests. 

2) Quite naturally, the number of found incidences (= what they call “infections”) rise. Due to low infection rate and specifity of the PCR tests, the number of False Positives also rise.

3) Hearing this -despite only 97 fatalities in more than 1 year- Thai, who can afford it, rush to the hospitals to make private PCR tests. Increasing the positive test numbers even more.

4) RESULT: You suddenly have a huge jump in incidence numbers

 

 

Anyway, I am considering to go also to the hospital to make a checkup:

 

1) I have some muscle ache - but one never knows ...

2) Order a full body scan in the radiology department 

 

===>  Maybe, I have some broken bones, but I am not aware of it.

The thing being is that the people making the decisions will continue to have their income no matter what happens. The biggest proponents of full lockdown are usually financially secure anyway.

I believe the simplest solution is to stop people being tested by RT-PCR and have them do blood tests as antibodies will confirm 110% if they are positive.

The above article reports that RT-PRC tests are not 100% accurate.

 

China did a trial on 10 million people to see if those that were asymptomatic could spread the virus and the results are interesting.

I mean once people are tested and diagnosed, is anyone following up on their symptoms, do they have the influenza or some other virus, what are their symptoms, deep harsh cough or a runny nose ending up in hospital with many others in the same boat taking up hospital beds and making things worse than they are, just a question, I mean how many have died since Covid first landed here, 97, how many made full recoveries, tens of thousands, just stating the facts.

I'm pretty sure the poster was referring to those returning to visit their families at Songkran, whether they still class that as home or not does not mean they also don't have a home where they reside in Bangkok. Its not rocket science here mate

We knew that when it was announced the government was not considering a nationwide lockdown, one for coming for all or most of the country.  These provinces must amount for nearly 70% of the economy, Bangkok being 50% by itself. Forermerly economically important provinces like Phuket and Surat are no longer important without foreign tourists.
