Channel 3 featured a video (that cannot be embedded here) that showed a piece of metal lying in the road being thrown up by a pick-up.

It flew straight into the car following that had a dash cam, shattering the windshield (windscreen).

The presenters asked: Whose going to take responsibility for that?

We have still shots of the action.

It was posted on the site J Moi V Plus (เจ๊ม้อยv plus) on Facebook where you may be able to locate the footage

Had a large flat-board lorry over take me on the A1 in the UK, the load was a a few huge boulders surrounded by loose rubble........it was spraying the rubble everywhere.......smashed the windscreen and damaged the bonnet.....absolutely criminal.

Happened to me last week, a truck traveling in the other direction had a rock fly off the back straight into my windscreen. Nothing I could do because it happened so fast, insecure loads that the police do nothing about, if it were a motorbike that was hit he would have been dead for sure.

A number of years ago a mate hit a bag of cement on the expressway middle lane which smashed in the front of his car.

It is illegal for vehicles with uncovered / non-enclosed loads to go on the expressway - no one stops them.

Illegal loads on roads everywhere in Thailand, police do nothing and why would they, they can get 6000 Baht from a Husband and Wife not wearing their mask in a car !!!

If you've been in Thailand for longer than 11 minutes, you know the roads are some of the deadliest on the planet.  This includes everything happening...

Tank.   It's the only way.

Wife told me Tuesday gone to put on my mask in the pickup. I thought she was having me on. No, she wasn't. Apparently, 10k in Nakhon Ratchisma to travel with family in the same vehicle if not wearing masks(?!?!), but load people onto pickups, drive while intoxicated, entire families in one scooter, use the motorway as if it were your own personal racetrack, etc., etc., etc., "mai bpen rai". Crazy world (country?) we live in.

Debris on roads is a big hazard everywhere and occasionally the debris is obscured by the vehicle(s) in front, reducing the available reaction time for those following. An atypical reason why insurance  purchased. If some-one leaves themselves under-insured, then that's would have been a cognitive decision on their part.

By comparison, a similar situation arose some time ago. That resulted in a loss of an aircraft, along with all passengers and crew. Not forgetting those present in the buildings it crashed into, at that time.

A cracked windscreen just doesn't compare. It's just one of the many risks we all (knowingly or naively)  accept when we drive, addressing; benefit vs risk. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. If you don't cover the occasions that you may lose. It's on you.
