Will be going back to Korat again soon,,first time that I will get to see the Airport.

Any one have any advice on the route to Korat by car?,,I have travelled the mad montain road from Pattaya to Korat before and although its scenic it took quite some time.

The Northwest high way looks some way off from where Suvarnabhumi is,,or is the best route back into Bangkok?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cant wait to come back....one year away is far too long.

I did it in the incoming direction last month from Khun Han on the 24.

I found that the new toll circle road (9) that goes north just beside the airport is great.

From the airport take the 9 then 1 then 2 and then 24 or go further depending how you want to approach Korat

I did a Khun Han - Airport in just over 5 hours (530km) on a Friday mid-morning departure (it was a national holiday)

I agree completely - the 9 is a toll road ( 2 stops 30 baht each) that will connect to the 1 - take it and merge with the 2 all the way to Korat - good road

Yes, this is the best route: just be aware that Highway 1/2 is a blackspot for road accidents and look out for the non dual carriageway sections in the hills south of Korat.
